KILPADDOGE – KNOCKANURE 2 220kV CABLE ROUTE TRENCHING & DUCTING PROJECT
Subject: Notification Letter for Works on R551 (Tarbert to Ballylongford Road) & Road Closure of the L1013 [Bog Road, Bog line] on the 29th April
KN Circet will be carrying out a trenching and ducting project for the installation of a new cable route in your area on behalf of ESB Networks. The project is part of an overall 21km trenching and ducting project from Kilpaddoge Substation to Knockanure Substation of which KN will do approximately 10km of the required ducting and cabling. The works involve but are not limited to trenching and ducting works, construction of passing bays at each joint bay to allow vehicles to manoeuvre during the cable pulling, the installation of the cables and the reinstatement of the road pavement.
The planned commencing date of the ducting works on the R551 is the 23rd of April 2019 and the expected completion date is the 15th of June 2019. Following this initial ducting works there will be further works along this road for additional ducting works, cable installation and jointing and the timing of these will be advised as the works progress. There will be a traffic light system in place on the R551.
There is also a planned road closure on the L1013 (Bog Road, Bog Line) starting on 29th April. This will be a 24-hour closure from 8am on Mondays until 7pm on Fridays. The road will be fully open on weekends. Works on this road are expected to complete before the 11th July.
Works on the Moyvane Rd starts in September 2019 and further notification will be sent out prior to these works starting.
A text alert system shall be in place to keep residents informed of the works progress. Our representative has visited residents and have collected contact details for this alert system.
